It began in 1875 with Ludolph Bauer at age 23 setting up a printing plant to produce business cards in  Hamburg, Germany. He then went on to produce newspapers such as Extrablatt am Montag and by 1926 released a radio magazine called Rundfunk-kritik which reached sales of half a million a week
